Camping World, which bills itself as the world’s largest seller of recreational vehicles, said it has reached a deal to acquire two south Louisiana RV lots.
The company announced Thursday it has an agreement to purchase Bent’s RV, which has locations in Albany and Boutte. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.
Bent’s RV was founded in 2002 to serve RV customers in the New Orleans area.
Brian Bent, who co-founded the company with his brother Greg, said Camping World plans to hire more employees at the two lots and expand the Albany site. About 45 people work at the two locations, he said.
"They're coming in to employ more people and sell more campers," Bent said. "The market is there, and they're going to take us and dwarf what we've done." He will remain with the dealership.
Illinois-based Camping World has RV dealerships in Breaux Bridge and Bossier City. Marcus Lemonis, chairman and CEO of Camping World, said in a statement the Bent’s deal will help the company reach its goal of being the top RV dealer in Louisiana.
Camping World has about 250 locations in 43 states. The company has said it wants to expand to more than 320 locations over the next five years, through acquisitions and new store openings.
