Photos: After a yearlong closure because of the coronavirus, New Orleans adult day care reopens
Following more than a year of being closed due to the pandemic, two Adult Day centers, the Shirley Landry Benson PACE Center on N. Rampart Street in New Orleans and Hope Haven in Marrero, reopened to serve as an adult day health center. They reopened for clients who participate in services and programs offered by PACE, an affiliated ministry of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO). It enables frail older adults to remain in their own homes and communities as long as medically and socially feasible. The healthcare program allows clients to access their various health and wellness needs and offers speciality physician care, medications, rehabilitative therapy, personal care services and transportation. Group activities also provide a chance for socialization.
