Boxes of donated toys for Toys for Tots are loaded into a van by Sgt. Josh Ortillo, center, Staff Sgt. Brittney Boyd, back left, and Sgt. Warren Piear, right, on Canal Street on Monday, December 18, 2023. They said it was a better than expected donation collected during their drive the past three weeks. The local drive collected over 35,000 toys from over 300 Drop Sites from all over the New Orleans area. These toys will go towards hospitals, low-income households, schools, and any non-profit organizations that request for toys that ultimately go to children in need.
