"Entourage" actor and Emmy nominee Kevin Dillon will reign over the 2024 Krewe of Bacchus, krewe captain Clark Brennan announced Thursday night.
As Bacchus LV, Dillon will lead the parade on Sunday, Feb. 11 as it rolls at 5:15 p.m. from Napoleon Avenue and Prytania Street.
“We are thrilled that Kevin Dillon will be joining us as Bacchus LV,” Brennan said in a press release. “Kevin follows in our long tradition of outstanding entertainers who delight the crowds and make Mardi Gras even more enjoyable.”
Dillon, who hails from Mamaroneck, New York, is best known for his portrayal of Johnny Drama in HBO's "Entourage." He was nominated three times for an Emmy Award from 2007 to 2009 and once for a Golden Globe for his performance in the drama comedy series.
Dillon's performance as a sociopathic soldier in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film, "Platoon," was also widely acclaimed.
The theme of Bacchus' 55th parade is “Take A Number Please," and it will feature 32 floats, including the krewe's signature Bacchasaurus, Bacchawhoppa, Bacchaneer and Bacchagator. The krewe’s 1,700 riders will toss king cake pillows, signature socks, lighted clown wigs, Dalmatian hats, ball caps, gnomes, LED watches and sustainable kitchenware.
