The first Lighting of the Oaks at Hope Haven, 1202 Barataria Blvd., in Marrero, took place recently. Thirteen live oak trees that line the Hope Haven walking track were illuminated, and residents will be able to walk under a canopy of trees and dazzling lights. Jefferson Parish Council member Deano Bonano and state Sen. Patrick Connick hosted the event.
