Celebrating the 92nd year of parading, the Krewe of Alla staged its annual Alla Bash at the Capital on Baronne last evening. Carnival's fifth-oldest parading organization celebrated with the theme "Alla's Mythical Menagerie” with costumes depicting creatures from myth, lore and literature.
Reigning over the festivities as King Alla XCII was Mr. Casey A. Little. Queen Alla XCII was Dr. Christina M. Christ. He is the son of Allen and Beverly Little. She is the daughter of Ms. Sandra Lee Christ.
Serving as maids of the court are Dr. Catherine Wentowski Ninan, representing the float “Chi Lin;” Mrs. Shana Harrison representing the float “The Jinn;” Ms Jamie Marie Pye representing the float “The Beldam;” and Dr. Courtney Lyn Shappley representing the float “The Phoenix.”
Dukes of the court were Messrs. Brad Tate and Cody Gray.
Princesses to her majesty were Misses Avery Shappley, daughter of Dr. Shappley; and Eloise Ninan, daughter of Drs. Neil Ninan and Catherine Wentowsk Ninan.
Pages to the king were Masters Wyatt Allen Little, son of his majesty and Mr. Adam Little; and Bennett Dalton Matrana, son of Dr. Marc Matrana and Mrs. Heather Green Matrana.
Past royalty honored included Mr. Les Falgout and Drs. Chandler LeBouef, Matrana and James Bragg; and Mrs. Matrana and Dr. Cherie Drez Bragg.
Artist Terrance Osbourne and his wife Stephanie will serve as grand marshals in 2024.
Serving as vice chairs of the committee were Drs. Peter Cho and Kevin Nanney. Royalty chairs were Dr. LeBouef and Mrs. Matrana. Mrs. Tracie Smith-Hughes served as chair of events.
