On the heels of his appearance on "The Masked Singer," Louisiana actor John Schneider is reportedly in hot water for comments he made on social media calling for the hanging of President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

The post, made on X earlier this week, has since been deleted.

Deadline reports Schneider's comment is being investigated by the Secret Service as a potential threat against a sitting U.S. president, though the federal agency has not publicly confirmed a probe.

Schneider, a vocal right-winger famous for his role as Bo Duke on the 1970s and '80s comedy TV series "Dukes of Hazzard," wrote in a social media post directed at Biden that he believes the president should be publicly executed, according to the Guardian.

"Mr. President," Schneider tweeted. "I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider."

The comment was made in response to a post from the president, in which said Donald Trump — who is currently running for another term in the Oval Office while facing dozens of criminal charges — is a threat to American democracy.

"Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to choose, civil rights, voting rights, and America's standing in the world," Biden wrote on X. "But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything."

Secret Service officials have refused to comment publicly on Schneider's specific case, providing only general statements to local and national news outlets.

“We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees," a Secret Service spokesperson told Fox 8.

Schneider denied threatening or calling for violence against the president in statements issued to Deadline.

“It’s my position, which I am entitled to have, that some of our nations [sic.] leaders in Washington have lost their way, and corruption runs rampant, both on our nation’s borders and abroad,” Schneider said. “Transparency and accountability must happen in order for our constitutional republic to survive. There is no threat implied or otherwise in that statement.”

Schneider did not say specifically what behavior of Biden's he found to be treasonous, but the Republican-majority House launched an impeachment inquiry into Biden in December and have spent months investigating the Biden family's business dealings.

The controversy surrounding Schneider comes just after he appeared in Season 10 of "The Masked Singer," a reality TV show where celebrities perform in disguise and eventually reveal their identities as they're eliminated from the competition.

Schneider, disguised as Donut, made it all the way to the show's finale, winning over the show's judges and audience with his honesty about his grief over his recently deceased wife

Schneider also appeared on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2018.
