The 2023 NFL season is in the home stretch, and there are plenty of player props that offer value in Week 17.
No teams have clinched the No. 1 seed yet in either conference to where every team is expected to start their top players, so there are plenty of options to pick from with over half of the 32 teams still alive in the playoff race.
Below are my favorite player prop plays for this week, which include passing yardage, rushing yardage and receiving yardage props.
TOP FIVE WEEK 17 PROP PLAYS
Player prop odds from Caesars Sportsbook, official odds partner of Bet.NOLA.com.
Passing top play
Panthers QB Bryce Young OVER 175.5 yards (-133) at Jaguars
Young broke through last week with a season-high 312 passing yards, and he did so against a Packers defense that’s been pretty solid against the pass this season. Young draws a softer matchup this week against the struggling Jaguars, and while he hasn’t been consistent as a passer, I see him having another solid week as he looks to keep the positive momentum going heading into next season.
Rushing top plays
Eagles RB D’Andre Swift OVER 69.5 yards (-119) vs. Cardinals
Swift has stayed consistent as the Eagles lead running back, and he’s had over 70 rushing yards the past two weeks. Swift’s touchdown number is disappointing due to Jalen Hurts and tush push, but that doesn’t prevent Swift from piling up yards on the ground, and he should do so again this week against a Cardinals defense that ranks among the worst in the NFL against the run.
Packers RB Aaron Jones UNDER 51.5 yards (-117) at Vikings
Jones has had success on the ground since returning from injury, but he’s been inconsistent on the season and draws a tough matchup this week against a Vikings defense that limited him to 29 rushing yards back in Week 8. Jones likely won’t be able to keep up his recent success as a result and is still dealing with nagging injuries that could prevent him from reaching his potential.
Receiving top plays
Vikings WR Justin Jefferson OVER 76.5 yards (-125) vs. Packers
The Vikings star wide receiver proved he was back last week with 141-yard outing, and he’s set to keep it going this week against a Packers secondary that was recently carved up by the struggling Panthers. The Packers will also be without top cornerback Jaire Alexander, so Jefferson should have plenty of opportunities to cook despite having to catch passes from rookie quarterback Jaren Hall.
Steelers WR George Pickens UNDER 48.5 yards (-117) at Seahawks
Pickens had a season-best 195 yards last week with Mason Rudolph under center, but that number is likely to come back down this week considering that the Seahawks secondary has shown improvement recently. Pickens hadn’t had over 100 yards since Week 7, so the chances of him stringing together back-to-back strong performances doesn’t seem likely.
SEASON PROP RECORD
