Outgoing Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin will join Jeff Landry's gubernatorial staff when Landry takes office on Monday.

Ardoin, a Republican who has served as secretary of state since 2018, will work as Landry's director of intergovernmental relations, Landry's transition staff announced Thursday. Ardoin's appointment came in an announcement of nine senior appointees that paint a fuller picture of who will run Landry's administration.

Kyle Ruckert will be Landry's chief of staff. Ruckert was a top strategist on Landry's gubernatorial campaign and later worked as a director of his transition team, which started meeting in October.

Kate Kelly, the communications director for Landry's campaign and his transition operation, will continue in that capacity in his administration.

The attorney general's office spokesperson from Landry's years atop that agency, Millard Mule, was named one of two policy directors in the administration. Mule was also on Landry's staff during his term in Congress.

Here's a full list of the new administration hires announced Thursday:

  • Chief of Staff: Kyle Ruckert
  • Executive Counsel to the Governor: Angelique Freel
  • Chief of Staff to the First-Lady: Elise Cazes
  • Communications Director: Kate Kelly
  • Deputy Chief of Staff: Andree Miller
  • Legislative Director: Lance Maxwell
  • Director of Intergovernmental Relations: Kyle Ardoin
