The family behind the legendary Drago's Seafood Restaurant is chronicled in a book to be signed by the author Saturday at Barnes and Noble in Metairie.
"Drago's: An American Journey" will be signed by author Peter Finney Jr. at 11:30 a.m. at the bookseller at 3721 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie.
The story of Croatian immigrants Drag and Klara Cvitanovich recounts their journey from a small family restaurant to the creation of the seafood specialty charbroiled oysters at their now multi-location restaurant chain. It also tells of their efforts to help distribute food in post-Katrina times.
Finney, executive editor and general manager of the Archdiocese of New Orleans' Clarion Herald newspaper, is a former sports writer for the New York Post and New York Daily News.
