Gypsy Rose Blanchard is finally speaking her truth in Lifetime's new docuseries "The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard," coming out Friday.
The 32-year-old Louisiana native — who served 8 years in prison for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother in Missouri — was released from prison last week, after being granted parole months prior. Now, Blanchard is back home in Lake Charles with her husband.
Lifetime's six-hour special will explore Blanchard's years of unnecessary medical treatments that she was subjected to by her mother, who allegedly suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a mental illness in which a caretaker fabricates a child's symptoms of illness, according to MedlinePlus.
"I will share my story the way that it should be shared," Blanchard said in the trailer.
The three-night Lifetime series will premiere on Jan. 5, 6 and 7 at 7 p.m., and can be streamed on the Lifetime app. Visit Blanchard's Instagram and Lifetime's website for updates.
